2 Oceans Marathon

Once again a group of the Pink team made the Easter pilgrimage down to Cape Town to run what is billed as the "World's Most Beautiful Marathon".

Saturday morning started out cool and breezy, with temperatures rising slightly as the day progressed. Although there were a few gusts on wind during the first quarter of the race as runners wound their way along Lakeside and Muizenberg, the conditions remained mostly pleasant. The biggest blessing was having the earlier gusts of wind serving as a tailwind as the ascent of Chapman's Peak began.

Overall our team of athletes had a good outing with notable achievements by Dawood Cassim, Lester Carls, Ian Smith, Sean Mitchley and Diane Shearer who all achieved PBs in the Ultra Marathon and Winston Donachie who ran a PB in the half marathon.

Congratulations to Peter Purdon who completed his 10th ultra marathon and earned his blue number.

Chris Nursey remains our most experienced current competitor in this event recording his 26th consecutive finish.
